Senior Accountant
Job Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible, through use of accurate and timely financial reporting, for routine & ad hoc accounting, analyses, financial planning & various other duties. This role will be cross functional within the Financial Department, working closely with the CFO, Management, Controller as well as Financial Analyst.
Primary Job Duties
Accounting Duties
- Manage monthly/quarterly, regional financial statements and external financial reporting.
- Prepare in company-wide financial statement.
- Manage the month-end close, process meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Analyze accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness and compliance with standards defined within the department and GAAP.
- Perform variance analytics monthly on G/L accounts, communicating results to senior accounting management.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliation and analysis monthly.
- Prepares accounting estimates and maintains records of these estimates.
- Assist in maintaining perpetual inventory.
- Supports internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules and answering auditor questions.

Required Competencies / Prerequisites
- 2 to 5 years’ work experience in progressive accounting roles, public accounting experience a plus.
- BS/BA in Accounting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong internal control and process knowledge.
- Performs all work with a high sense for accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite including MS Excel, and Power Point.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks a plus
- Strong skills in database report writing software, such as MS Access and Qlik.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Some travel may be required.

- Regional visits that may require walking yard.
- Office environment
- Hard hats, FR Clothing and other as required by customer.
- Light to moderate physical effort required.
- Regularly required to walk, reach, and move about the facility.
- Able to work around hazardous chemicals and in Oil & Gas Operational conditions.
- Ability to read, communicate verbally and/or in written form, remember and analyze certain information, instructions, and guidelines.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
